Error running Bucket Commander

Postby paulg » Wed Aug 03, 2011 6:20 pm

I am trying to set up a scheduled task to run backups of my S3 buckets. I have configured a file called batchtesting.xml using the Bucket Commander Editor in Bucket Explorer. When I run Bucket Commander from inside Bucket Explorer using:

-action:download -authenticate:<valid nickname> -configfilename:H:\CommanderConfigs\batchtesting.xml

the job runs fine. But when I try to run:

BucketCommander.exe -action:download -authenticate:<valid nickname> -configfilename:H:\CommanderConfigs\batchtesting.xml at a command prompt, I get the message:

"Help:- -action:upload/download/copy/setaclstodefault -authenticate:nick-name -em
ailprofile:profilename -configfilename:configuration file name
Enter correct operation upload/download/copy/setaclstodefault"

and a browser window pointing to http://www.bucketexplorer.com/documenta ... ander.html.

I am using a correct operation -action:download. What am I doing wrong?

Hello,

Yes you are doing correct, according to the given information you are doing correct and that should work also.

is Path, which you are mention in this forum is same except xml name, then I need to know which version are you using ?

But if not then check in you path name is there any space like H:\Config Folder\commander.xml or H:\ConfigFolder\Bucket Commander.xml like this. then try again with keeping this path in double quote like "H:\ConfigFolder\Bucket Commander.xml"

Even if your commander is not running then let us know

Thanks

I am using Version 2011.07.00.01.

But I got it to work properly. The problem was with the authentication. I had:

-authenticate:My Nickname

I changed it to:

-authenticate:"My Nickname"

and it ran perfectly. The problem was the space in My Nickname.

Thank you for your quick response. It got me to think of the correct problem and I was able to fix it.
